Knights Park will be welcoming some very tall visitors!

We are excited to announce that , Knights Park, will be sponsoring the Cambridge Standing Tall 2024 trail, in support of local East Anglian charity, Break. we're already known for our commitment to charitable work, with its Foundation 200 initiative providing 200 modular homes for homeless people between 2019 and 2025. Now, we will be supporting Break’s work to raise the aspirations of young people leaving the care system through the Cambridge Standing Tall campaign.

The creative initiative will see up to 40 giraffe sculptures installed throughout the streets of Cambridge for 10 weeks in spring 2024, forming an exciting art trail for locals and visitors to enjoy. Following on from the well-received 2021 Cows About Cambridge trail, anticipation is already building for the Cambridge Standing Tall artworks. Delivered by Break, in partnership with Wild in Art and Cambridge BID, the 2.5-metre-high giraffes will be sponsored by organisations and businesses and decorated by local artists. Schools and local community groups are also getting involved with their own smaller version of the giraffe sculptures, known as a ‘Mini G’, which will form part of the trail’s Learning and Community Programme.

As a sponsor, Knights Park, in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, will be welcoming two of the giraffes to Eddington!

As well as these two larger giraffes, the next generation of artists are collaborating with children at the University of Cambridge Primary School to decorate their own Mini G (As seen in picture). Standing at 1.5 metres, their sculpture will form part of the trail and is something they can keep after the 10-week trail ends, and will be placed within Eddington as a piece of public art.

Break Partnership Manager, Ellie Edge, comments: "We're delighted to have The Hill Group join our herd for the Cambridge Standing Tall trail. As well as raising vital funds for Break to support young care leavers, the trail is a great way of proudly shining a spotlight on some of the wonderful venues within the city to all who visit, live, and work in Cambridge. We can't wait to see the sculptures standing tall in Eddington, which will be a great addition to the trail map, giving trail-goers an exciting place to explore."

Rebecca Littler, Group Sales and Marketing Director, at The Hill Group comments: “Supporting and connecting with local communities has long been part of The Hill Group’s work. We are delighted to further this commitment by sponsoring the Cambridge Standing Tall 2024 initiative in support of Break. The local Cambridge community has shown significant support for the development of sustainability-focused homes at Knights Park. Now, we are thrilled to be able to give something back in such an exciting and creative fashion.”
